ENGINEERING A SAFER WORKPLACE

The Levitate AIRFRAME® exoskeleton merges man and machine to reduce muscle overexertion and help mitigate workers compensation costs.

LEARN MORE

Levitate is proud to partner with CNA as an "Allied Vendor" to provide the AIRFRAME® technology to improve worker health safety and productivity. As an Allied Vendor, CNA is now recommending the AIRFRAME® to its clients.

The Next Level in SAFETY

The AIRFRAME® transfers the weight of the arms and tool from the shoulders, neck and upper back to the outside of the hips, evenly distributing energy to reduce stress. It slips easily on and off, and moves seamlessly with the wearer without intruding into the workspace or limiting motion or dexterity. The AIRFRAME® has been mandated as a safety product by world class manufacturers to reduce workers compensation costs.

  • Fall protection harness compatible
  • Works in paint and electrostatic paint environments
  • Fire-retardant version available for hot work

CASE STUDIES

MANUFACTURING

The AIRFRAME® went through an extensive study and testing phase with a major automotive manufacturer starting in 2017. During both lab and on the job electromyography studies, the AIRFRAME® proved to lower exertion levels by up to 80 percent. After two years of study, the manufacturer mandated use of the AIRFRAME® in a manufacturing line and, as a result, the manufacturing line reduced workers compensation costs to ZERO, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars.

CONSTRUCTION

In Oct 2019, Granite Construction contracted Iowa State University to conduct an on the job, IRB-approved exoskeleton study. The study took place in Whittier Alaska inside a 2.5-mile mountain railroad tunnel, where workers hung stainless steel drip pans on the ceiling and the upper wall of the tunnel. In the study, subjects worked with and without the AIRFRAME® for comparison with the ACGIH threshold limit value (TLV) for Upper Limb Localized Fatigue and cycle time. The majority of the subjects showed that the use of the AIRFRAME lowered exposure to fatigue from above the TLV to below the TLV. Additionally, the AIRFRAME® improved job cycle time by more than 6%!

AIRFRAME®
APPLICATIONS

The AIRFRAME® is designed to reduce overexertion of the shoulder and back muscles resulting from elevation of the arms and allows for motion from 0-degree to 180-degree range. The AIRFRAME® is the ONLY upper body exoskeleton proven to lower shoulder fatigue below the ACGIH TLV. The AIRFRAME® is not suitable for lifting items from the ground. But perfect for use in:
